Olex is an eye drop to treat itching of the eyes. Just use one drop in each eye three times a day. Olex belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. Olex is not used to treat other eye conditions like redness blurred vision or pain in or around the eye. Olex is used to treat itching of the eye caused by allergies or chronic dry eyes. Olex works by blocking the action of histamines in the eye that are responsible for eye itching and tears. After trying several different types of medication to relieve the itching doctors suggested the use of an ophthalmic solution containing a decongestant such as olopatadine. Because olopatadine is applied directly to the eye its effect is localized and can be dosed with less chance of systemic side effects. After applying 0.1 ml of olex in each eye once a day for a full month patients had decreased A itchiness and improved quality of life.
