| Solubility | In Water: Slightly soluble. Plaster of Paris is insoluble in water in its dry form. However when mixed with water it forms a paste that hardens upon setting. The Calcium Sulphate Hemihydrate reacts with water to revert to Calcium Sulphate Dihydrate (gypsum) forming a solid mass but only a small amount of calcium sulfate may dissolve in the water before this reaction.
